About Lakeside Cottages:
Lakeside cottages in the heart of the Kawartha Lakes
was started in the early 1950’s by the late Bob & Mary
Stenner our road today is called Stenner Road. Bob and Mary had a
dream to build five beautiful cottages all facing the lake and only
feet away from the water’s edge. The cottages were built to
a very high standard so it was not long after wards that Lakeside
started attracting visitors from all over Canada and the United States
enjoying the great fishing and the beautiful scenic views of the
lake where you can see for miles and miles stunning lake scenery
and for a smaller resort that’s really hard to find these days
it’s a perfect place to relax and watch the evening magical
sunsets that just take your breath away and to this very day Lakeside
Cottages attracts visitors now from all over the world and is highly
considered one of the finest locations on Beautiful Katchewanooka
Lake only 3 km from Lakefield village this resort is truly a hidden
gem!
You’re Hosts:
Mike and Eileen Williams originally from Peterborough
England are the fourth owner’s of Lakeside Cottages who came
to Canada for a vacation and stayed at Lakeside while staying at
the cottages they fell in love with the area of the Kawarthas turning
their dream into a reality of owning their own cottage resort. So
in 2002 The Williams then purchased Lakeside Cottage Resort and during
the past 10 years Mike and Eileen have made improvements and changes
to all the cottages all have new bathrooms nicely furnished with
well equipped kitchens also they have added larger family size bbq’s
including propane, new picnic tables, lawn chairs nice comfy sun
loungers and introduced several activities for all ages like kayaking,
canoeing, fishing swimming sand building competitions a spotless
safe sandy beach, ping pong, table football, water volleyball and
many more activities for the entire family. Mike is a keen and knowledgeable
fisherman one who has fished for well over 49 years and knows just
about everything there is about fishing, Mike will also give you
the best advice on fishing the lake and is a specialist in the Carp
fishing.
Well known for his honest approach you will be very
well looked after no other resort can compare with Mike’s fishing
experience. Eileen is always on hand to give you lots of information
on the area what’s happening what’s new and filled with
lots of ideas for a great vacation. Eileen is a breast cancer survivor
and both support the local Dragon Boat Race here in Peterborough
Canada. If your asking about the weather Eileen’s reply is “it’s
always nice in Paradise” and
we can all see why as everyday is a great day to be at Lakeside Cottage
Resort and with the couple’s outstanding warm hospitality is
not hard to see why so many guests return year after year.

season is a good time as Lakeside is an ideal place for couples,
seniors, and singles it’s a great location for all and only
90 minutes north east of Toronto city you’ll
be in cottage country. Families can be assured everyone will enjoy
a great summer vacation knowing that the cottages are spotless with
a safe sandy beach where the lake front area is weed free and clean
with a host of activities for the children to keep them busy all
day long and evening campfires to unwind and chat over the day’s
events by the lake. For the fisherman who just cannot wait to throw
in a line in and rent a boat and motor you can fish on Lake Katchewanooka
for the Pickerel / Walleye, Pan Fish, Sunfish Small and Largemouth
Bass, Carp and even the elusive Muskie if your lucky enough to catch
one!
